I was thinking instead of just downloading all my music onto a mp3 player/Ipod, I should probably just start buying lots of LP's, Vinyls, CD's from stores like Amoeba Music. Since theres a lot of music I cant find from downloading, I thought maybe I can just start a really interesting collection of music that I could possibly use for other purposes later on(like DJing and other purposes...but I was also thinking about just using the mp3 player/Ipod when Im on the go and stuff) What are your opinions on this? Should I go on and create a sick collection of all sorts of old school/ underground hip hop, jazz, soul, or just any other kind of music or what and I suppose support the artists as well?
I started collecting vinyl records about 7 or 8 months ago and im really loving it, I mainly collect older classic rock, blues, soul etc..
Im loving it, you appreciate the music more as listening to it becomes a different experiance and it becomes a lot more interesting when purchasing music...
I'd definately go for it, if I was you.
It adds a whole other element to your music, and you'll only grow to appreciate them more in the future (collectibles will just gain value).
