So there I was, once again in Dodge, looking for my best gal Chantilly Lace, who done run off.
It's a lazy ol' town, and time don't seem to be running, at least, it don't pass me by. I been here before, so passing through again, it's like a sentimental journey.
I took a walk to the bar, 'cause my throat was dry and scratchy.
"No milk today," the bartender said, recognizing me from the last time I'd been through.
I showed him a photograph of my girl. "You're 16 hours too late, or thereabouts" he said. "She done come through last night, and moved on to the next town."
I left the bar, and mosied on down the main drag. Miss Kitty waved at me, beckoning, but I wasn't about to enter that octopus's garden. I knew that what goes on in Dodge don't stay in Dodge, catch my drift?
Just afore I left town, I caught a glimpse o' Marshall Matt Dillon and Miss Sunshine riding in Dillon's horseless carriage.
And again, I din't catch no glimpse o' Hayden Panettiere. It don't come easy.
