What's the classical period/genre of works that sound more 'cinematic'/emotional?
For example, Stravinsky's The Firebird Suite, Gustav Holst's The Planets, Arnold Schoenberg's Orchesterstuecke op. 16, Mahler's Symphony of a Thousand have a film score feel yet they're classical but do not sound like the traditional classical of Beethoven and Mozart.
Your list includes several whose works are 'modern' (1900 - 1960), but some of this early modern is also 'late romantic.'
The romantic period (Look in Wikipedia) is from about the middle work of Beethoven to the year 1900. I think that is where a part of your current interest will lie. (No period falls neatly in the hundred or fifty year markers it is often defined as.)
The section on romantic music will list lots of composers, and some of their best-known works. Brahms' symphonies are grand scale, for example. You might try his Eine Deutsches Requiem, a great choral work.
Solid 'mid' romantic is Franz Schubert: try his 'unfinished' symphony.
Anton Bruckner composed big symphonic works.
Mahler wrote nine (completed) symphonies, all good.
Carl Nielson, a Danish composer, lived 'across' the dates of late romantic to modern. His symphonies are often big-scale sounding works.
Try his Symphony No. 5. (1st movement)
Jan Sibelius, Late romantic. The symphonies and tone poems, are worth a listen.

Sergei Prokofiev is considered modern: the harmony is often more contemporary, but a lot of his symphonic music is romantic, and has a great rhythmic feel and sweep. Try the Piano Concerto No. 3, or his Violin Concerto No. 1
Another modern you might like is Paul Hindemith: who used modern harmony and old-fashioned musical methods. Try his Symphonic Suite, 'Mathis der Maler. (part 1)
