My video projector has only 1080I capability. Can I connect a HD-DVD or Blue Ray and get high def?
I have a Dwin processor and projector in my home theater. It can project up to 1080 interlaced but not 1080 progressive. Will any of the new high definition DVD formats allow the output to be in 1080 i or 720 p so as to be compatable with my projections system. I paid $10,000 for this system in 2002 and hate to think I have to replace it in order to screen high definition DVD.
You should only see a slight difference between 1080i at 60i frames a second vs. the 1080p at 30p frames a second. (frankly I have to look very hard to see a difference).
The Best resolution for that set up will be over component only. Make sure the player you get will allow that resolution over component. Denon comes to mind as a good candidate. 1080i out put will give you the best image.
